The Gums Camping Area is situated close to a meandering mountain stream and nestled amongst tall eucalypts and ferns. This tranquil area is a popular base for relaxing or exploring the northern section of Kinglake National Park. The Gums is ideal for families and small groups. It has 18 campsites, five of which are suitable for caravans up to 20ft in length (without annex). Each campsite is surrounded by vegetation providing a delightful bush setting.
Each campsite may be booked for a maximum of six people and one vehicle. Shared facilities include picnic tables, fireplaces and one free gas barbeque. Campers are advised to bring their own drinking water and to avoid the use of detergent and soap in the nearby creek. Firewood bags can usually be purchased in the winter in Kinglake.
Pets are not permitted in the camping area.
The Gums campground in Kinglake National Park is closed each year during the Victorian 3rd school term. Dates will vary each year. For further information, please call 131963.
