Let’s Go Victoria (“LGV”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.

 

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, how we protect it, and how you can contact us about your information or make a privacy complaint.

 

This Policy applies to the Let’s Go Victoria website, user accounts, business and event listings, Shop Local marketplace, paid services, communications and related services.

 

  1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT

 

The personal information we collect depends on how you use Let’s Go Victoria.

 

It may include:

 

– your name, email address, phone number and postal address;

– account and login details;

– business, organisation, seller or listing information you provide;

– billing, order, delivery and transaction details;

– information you provide when submitting or managing listings, products, reviews, comments or other content;

– information you provide when contacting us for support, making an enquiry or responding to communications;

– seller information required to administer Shop Local, including information connected with payment-provider onboarding and verification;

– technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, cookies and similar data;

– information about how you interact with the website, where this is collected through analytics, security or similar tools; and

– other information you choose to provide to us.

 

We generally do not need sensitive information to provide LGV services. If sensitive information is collected, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law.

 

  1. HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

We may collect personal information:

 

– directly from you when you create an account, submit a listing, purchase a service, place an order, sell through Shop Local, contact us, leave a review or otherwise use LGV;

– automatically through cookies, analytics, security tools, server logs and similar technologies;

– from publicly available sources where reasonably necessary to create, verify or maintain listings or editorial information;

– from businesses, event organisers, sellers, service providers and other third parties where reasonably necessary to operate LGV; and

– from payment, security, hosting, email, analytics and other service providers where relevant to the operation of the platform.

 

  1. WHY WE COLLECT AND USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

We may use personal information to:

 

– create and manage user accounts;

– publish, manage and verify listings;

– administer paid LGV services and subscriptions;

– operate the Shop Local marketplace;

– process and administer orders and payments;

– provide sellers with the information needed to fulfil customer orders;

– provide customer service and respond to enquiries;

– manage refunds, disputes, chargebacks and transaction issues;

– communicate with users about accounts, listings, orders or services;

– send marketing communications where permitted;

– improve website functionality, content and user experience;

– protect LGV, users and sellers from fraud, spam, abuse and security threats;

– meet legal, regulatory, accounting and record-keeping obligations; and

– otherwise operate and improve the Service.

 

Where required, we will seek consent before using personal information for a purpose that is not reasonably expected or otherwise permitted by law.

 

  1. SHOP LOCAL MARKETPLACE

 

Shop Local allows approved third-party sellers to sell products and services through LGV.

 

When you purchase from a Shop Local seller, personal information necessary to process and fulfil the order may be shared with that seller. This may include your name, contact details, delivery information, order details and other information reasonably required to complete the transaction.

 

Sellers must use customer personal information only for legitimate purposes connected with the order, customer service, legal compliance or other purposes permitted by law.

 

Sellers must not sell, misuse or improperly disclose customer personal information obtained through LGV.

 

Payments are processed using Stripe and Stripe Connect or another payment provider we may make available. Payment providers collect and process payment and account information under their own privacy policies and terms.

 

LGV does not receive or store full payment-card details where those details are collected directly by the payment provider.

 

  1. DISCLOSURE TO SERVICE PROVIDERS AND THIRD PARTIES

 

We may disclose personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary to operate LGV, including:

 

– payment providers such as Stripe;

– hosting, website, security and technical service providers;

– email and communications providers;

– analytics and performance providers;

– sellers where necessary to fulfil Shop Local orders;

– professional advisers, contractors or service providers assisting with the operation of LGV;

– government, regulatory, law-enforcement or legal authorities where required or authorised by law; and

– another party where you have authorised the disclosure.

 

We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

 

  1. OVERSEAS DISCLOSURE

 

Some service providers used by LGV may store or process information outside Australia.

 

This can include providers of website hosting, cloud infrastructure, payment processing, email, analytics, security or other technical services.

 

The countries in which information may be processed can vary depending on the provider and service infrastructure.

 

Where required by law, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas handling of personal information is consistent with applicable privacy obligations.

Information you choose to publish in a public listing, product listing, review, comment or profile may be visible to other users of the website.

 

You should avoid including personal information in public-facing content unless you are comfortable for that information to be publicly available.

 

If you upload images, files or other content, information embedded in those files may also be accessible to others. Where appropriate, remove location data or other unnecessary personal metadata before uploading.
