    The event vibe

One of Victoria’s most magical winter events — the Sorrento Fire Night returns to the Sorrento Foreshore for the Winter Solstice. Watch in awe as fire twirlers and performers light up the night sky, a spectacular 6-metre Burning Statue effigy is set ablaze, and the foreshore is transformed with beautifully lit trees, live music, local DJs, and market stalls with gourmet food and mulled wine. A free community event beloved by locals and visitors alike.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
