    The event vibe

After a 2025 sellout tour of Australia, Penny Ashton is back in Melbourne for two shows only.

Flushed by 13 years of sold out successes from Edinburgh to Adelaide to Toronto comes New Zealander Miss Ashton's collaboration with Jane Austen (deceased).

Join Elspeth as she battles literary snobbery, cousin Horatio's digestions and her mother's nerves, armed only with a blushing countenance, excellent ukulele skills and being quite bright, you know for a girl.

In this hilarious, one-(freakishly talented)-woman show, Penny tackles all of Austen's characters with song, dance and appalling cross-stitching.

Having been performed over 600 times, Promise and Promiscuity is a shiny polished ball with a veritable slew of awards and glowing reviews in its musical bonnet.

Best Theatre, Week Three Adelaide. Best Overall Show Victoria Fringe, BC. Best Touring Production, Dunedin Theatre Awards.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
