    The event vibe

Black Cab returns to Australia’s east coast capitals to play their first shows for 2026. With new recordings imminent, the Cab bring their unique blend of electronic rock to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Black Cab’s live show combines motorik electronics, cold-wave textures and cinematic post-punk with the intensity of a late-night club soundtrack. Think part late night Berlin nightclub, part psychedelic road trip, with full‑body beats, immersive soundscapes, and a subtle undercurrent of menace.

The Cab’s new single, Strange Attraction will drop in late June.

Formed in 2004, Black Cab’s sound has ranged from psychedelic krautrock to driving electronica, often drawing inspiration from Europe and American culture of the ’70’s and ’80’s. Black Cab’s debut album, Altamont Diary, a dark take on the Stones’ free concert at Altamont was released in 2004 to critical acclaim worldwide. The band has since released albums Jesus East (2006), Call Signs (2009), Games of the XXI Olympiad (2014) and the alt-soundtrack LP Akira (2017). Call Signs was shortlisted for the 2009 Australia Music Prize. Their last album, Rotsler’s Rules, was released in 2022 with the single of the same name featuring heavily on Berlin’s Radio Eins.

The band headline regularly in Melbourne and the east coast of Australia, touring Europe in 2007. They have performed at the Sugar Mountain and Paradise festivals, Golden Plains, National Gallery of Victoria, Brisbane’s Gallery Of Modern Art, 2019’s Supersense Festival of the Ecstatic at the Melbourne Arts Centre, and 2021’s Dark Mofo festival in Hobart.

    THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
