    The event vibe

Gothic Doom Metal originators Paradise Lost to play first Australian shows in nearly a decade.

Paradise Lost remain the undisputed monarchs of metal’s dark frontier. Formed in Halifax in 1988, they quickly carved out their legacy as pioneers of gothic metal; a brooding fusion of crushing heaviness and shadow‑drenched melody.

Never content to remain static, the band has spent decades fearlessly exploring every corner of the dark‑music spectrum. From their sludgy doom‑death origins to the towering, cinematic sound that propelled them into the metal mainstream, Paradise Lost’s influence can be heard across generations of artists: from Cradle of Filth and HIM to Gatecreeper and Chelsea Wolfe.

Their 2026 shows promise a ferocious, career‑spanning descent into the band’s most iconic moments. Expect early classics from Shades of God and Icon, era‑defining anthems from Draconian Times and One Second, and the blistering resurgence of In Requiem and Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us, all the way through to their most recent triumph, Ascension.

Paradise Lost are a band so utterly assured in their craft, and so instinctively locked in with one another, that every performance becomes an overwhelming, immersive experience. When they take the stage, the atmosphere shifts; darker, heavier, charged with that unmistakable gothic-metal grandeur they perfected decades ago. Do whatever it takes to witness this machine in full flight when they steamroll Australia this October.

“Paradise Lost delivered a beyond flawless performance, sounding absolutely heavy, dark and surprisingly vibrant.” The Headbanging Moose

“Paradise Lost are alive, well, hungry and invigorated.” At The Barrier

“Paradise Lost are classy and self‑assured as they perform, letting the music speak loudest while the crowd completely laps it up.” The Razor’s Edge

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
