    The Tasty Scoop

San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op is known by locals simply as “The Co-op.” Since 1948, we have serviced the needs of the local fishing fleet and the seafood loving community.

Located right in front of San Remo Jetty, The Co-op boasts a magnificent view of the beach, the boats and bridge to Phillip Island.

The Co-op sources fresh, sustainable fresh seafood from our own fleet of fish and lobster vessels. With an ever-changing variety according to seasons and weather, your choices will include live and cooked lobster, fish, prawns, oysters, scallops, abalone and more. If you are staying on Phillip Island, we offer vac-pacs that will allow you to stock on the best local seafoof to take home and eat on your holiday.

Feast on the best Fish and Chips in town, featuring fish caught by our own boats and processed within The Co-op. Enjoy your meal inside, alfresco on the lawn or take away to the beach or park, right next door.

San Remo Pelican Feeding is a long-held tradition which is fun, free and educational. Every day at noon, the local pelicans line up on the beach to receive a snack of fresh fish from our staff, who also provide an interesting talk on the pelicans and the marine environment.

Visit the Fishing Heritage Museum, a great place to learn about the rich history of commercial fishing in San Remo. The museum includes interesting memorabilia, photography and video presentations, and is free to enter.

Stopping at the San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op Phillip Island is a must do.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
