    Fresh Air Vibes

Explore the beautiful old gardens, historic conservatory, fernery, playground and 60 acres of open spaces in Rosalind Park, right in the centre of Bendigo.

    History
Once a grassy woodland, the area was transformed during the 1950s goldrush when it became the site of the Government Camp and peppered with shallow shafts, mullock heaps and puddling mills. Its varied and fascinating history can be witnessed in its grand elm avenues, cascading water features, lookout tower, iron gates and fences, and old police barracks.

    Fernery
At the northern end of the park, go through the granite gateway to discover the water features, bridges, rockeries, gravel paths, and a fern and palm collection of the fernery.

    Conservatory
Follow the tulip-lined garden beds to the ornate conservatory, where different floral and foliage displays are exhibited throughout the year. Built in 1897 the conservatory is the last building of its kind in a public park in Victoria.

Discover the riches of the park on the Rosalind Park Discovery Walk. (Brochures available at Bendigo's Visitor Information Centre.)

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
