    The Tasty Scoop

Bistro Terroir is a neighbourhood French bistro. Your place to savour beautiful French food, together with a carefully selected drinks range. The quick rendezvous. An extended liaison. A private Indulgence.

Terroir (ter-wah) is a french word meaning the complete natural environment in which a particular crop is produced, including thinkgs like soil, topography and climate. But here it resonates with the philosophy of their inviting bistro. They want their customers to feel like their friends, they are a vital part of their terroir.

At the heart of the Bistro is chef/owner Matthew Carnell. Bistro Terroir brings Matthew's accomplished skills as a chef including a Michelin two star restaurant in Paris, France to Daylesford.

Matthew has a passion for local food and drinks, combined with exceptional chef abilities and an innate sense of the whole dining experience. Over the past decade, Matthew has collected an impressive array of food, wine, produce and restaurant experience. Having seen the bright lights; now is Matthew's time to connect with the local community and share fine french bistro style food, in a relaxed inviting atmosphere.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
