    Sips & Stories

Located in Waubra, just twenty minutes outside of Ballarat, this slice of paradise is situated on the side of the dormant volcano Quoin Hill which allows for stunning sunsets over the Pyrenees Ranges as well as perfect conditions for growing the four varietals of grape, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Shiraz.

The recently renovated sixty seat restaurant, gives their chefs Bailey and Jayden, a space to showcase local produce as well as produce grown on site. With an emphasis on cooking with fire, their chefs use both an Argentinian grill and a large wood fired pizza oven to deliver their seasonal menus which boast dishes that are curated to reflect what is in season and available at the time.

The 1920s homestead has been updated to allow it to be a place to rest and recharge after exploring what the Pyrenees region has to offer. With options for two or four bedrooms to be book, it's the perfect place to see stay for your weekend away.

They are also in the final planning stage of developing accommodation in the form of multiple eco-friendly tiny homes, which will be situated on the side of the dormant volcano Quoin Hill.

Whether it’s a long lunch, your next function or a wedding amongst the vines, they look forward to welcoming everyone to Wayward Winery.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
