    Sips & Stories

Provenance means place of origin and that is at the heart of everything at this enchanting winery. From vineyard to glass, from local farm to plate, Provenance’s modus operandi is about preserving the identity of place. With seven vineyards across south-west Victoria, specifically planted to ensure the best match of vineyard site to the best grape varietals… they take their task seriously.

The family-owned cellar door, restaurant and winery are located in a beautifully restored heritage-listed bluestone building positioned on the banks of the Barwon River, at the historic Fyansford Paper Mill, Geelong.

Provenance Wines has proudly been awarded a red 5-star rating by Halliday Wine Companion since 2011, no easy feat. They won Gourmet Traveller’s Australia’s Best Cellar Doors Awards 2020 – Best cellar door with food for the Geelong Region. In 2018 and 2019 they were awarded Gourmet Traveller Star Cellar Door Award for the Geelong Region, as well as the coveted Halliday Wine Companion 2019 Best value winery in Australia.

They are thrilled to be serving local high-quality dishes from renowned head chef Nate McIver and his awesome kitchen crew and they look forward to welcoming all guests.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
