Many celebrations impress. Some of these also linger long in memory.
This year we’d like to think that Lake House Daylesford’s New Year’s Eve Masquerade, will be one of the latter.
In terms of impression, we’re planning an orchestrated re-imagining of Capote’s Black and White Ball, held at the Plaza in NYC in 1966 and now, just for fun, being transported to our Central Victorian Highlands (with the addition of some Venetian flourishes).
Our ball begins towards sunset on the lagoon foreshore, where Bollinger will flow as freely as conversation among guests who appreciate sharing the finest experiences with friends. Here, beneath the shifting light of evening, your masks become invitations to engage. Those gathered becoming acquaintances and friends in the sheer delight of curiosity, appreciation and even adventure – as our beautiful local kookaburras sound their last call…
At dinner, Chef’s menu arrives, each course married to wines from our much loved and lauded cellar.
Raleigh Williams, with a voice capable of carrying the full musical spectrum in the weight of late-night confessions to early-morning revelations, will preside over the evening’s musical arc with her quintet. Dance the night away…
Not merely dinner theatre, our gathering celebrates efforts made. Masks permit the luxury of reinvention. Midnight arrives as punctuation rather than conclusion.
Come celebrate life, love and the joy of true hospitality. It will be memorable.
Tickets remain scarce by design.
Dress: Formal Black & White with a Mask.
The two best masks of the evening will win an overnight escape.
