    Local Vibes

Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions.

    Natural attractions

Visit the Ada Tree, one of the largest and oldest surviving trees in Victoria, estimated to be over 300 years old. Or hit the Toorongo and Amphitheatre Falls Loop Walk, a one-hour circular track that visits the spectacular viewing platforms for both Toorongo Falls and Amphitheatre Falls.

    Food and wine

Enjoy hearty pub meals and icy cold beer with a stunning view from the deck at the Noojee Hotel, or warm up in front of the open fire with a glass of wine in the renowned, outback-themed Toolshed Bar.

    Outdoor activities

Visit the Alpine Trout Farm and watch the kids catch fish, or pull on your boots and head to the Noojee Trestle Bridge, one of the oldest wooden trestle bridges in Victoria. Alternatively, use Noojee as your base for a trip to Mt Baw Baw. Learn how to ski or toboggan on the snowfields or take to the slopes on foot or mountain bike in summertime when the ski runs transform into epic mountain trails for the green season.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
