    Market vibes

The Rutherglen Market brings together all that is seasonal, regional and beautiful about produce in North-East Victoria. Held on the second Sunday of every month, the market attracts many different styles of stalls with the main focus being on seasonal produce.

Some tips for attending the Rutherglen Farmers’ Market:

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bag, basket or esky and to minimise waste.

Bring a sense of adventure. A farmers’ market is the ideal place to try something that might not normally be on the shopping list.

Ask a question. Take the opportunity to talk to the person who grew or produced the product. You might even pick up some great recipe ideas.

The market changes with the seasons — buy fresh produce at its best.

Support the Lions Club. The Rutherglen Lions Club have been fueling up visitors with magnificent egg and bacon rolls from the very first market. Be sure to try one when you next visit.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
