    Why You’ll Love It

Warragul Art Studios and the WAS Gallery is the culmination of the Lorraine family’s life long involvement in the arts. Having grown up in a family of artists, Anne Lorraine held a long time dream of creating an inspiring place to house and show their decades of creative work. Prior to acquiring the property, Anne was already familiar with 37 Latrobe Street as a fabulous and well kept example of Art Deco architecture, perfect for a gallery and art studios and worthy of renovation and preservation.

Located in the heart to Gippsland, the family now welcomes visitors to view exhibitions featuring oil and watercolour paintings, ceramics, jewellery and object design, photography and illustration.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
