The beautiful Cape Liptrap Coastal Park is a peaceful stretch of land along the coast, marked by the sand barrier of Point Smythe and ending by the sheltered waters of Waratah Bay. On this track, wander through coastal woodland and take the side track to a viewing platform to see the bay with the magnificent peaks of Wilsons Promontory in the background.

    Location: Cape Liptrap Coastal Park
Distance: 1.5km return (plus 700m side track)
    Duration: 45 minutes
Grade: Level 2 – No experience required. The track is hardened gravel or compacted surface and may have a gentle hill section and some steps.
    Start: Walkerville Camping Reserve
    Finish: Walkerville Camping Reserve
    Nearby: Walkerville North

Getting there: Access the Cape Liptrap Coastal Park via the Inverloch–Venus Bay Road from Inverloch (C442). Walkerville North is approximately 15 minutes from Tarwin Lower or Waratah Bay. The walk begins at the caravan park.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
