    Fresh Air Vibes

Fairy Dell Flora Reserve is a nature conservation reserve of special significance to the local area of Bruthen. At 80ha in size, it protects an important area of warm temperate rainforest and is a lovely spot to visit.

Dogs and firewood cutting are not permitted within the reserve.

The reserve is a day visitor site only, and there is no overnight camping available. Visitors can enjoy the circular walking trail and see diverse plant species of flora and bird life.

    Unique flora and bird life
The vegetation is dominated by Lily Pilly and forms a unique forest in combination with climbers, vines and ferns. As you enter the rainforest, you’ll notice a marked drop in the temperature, particularly on a hot day. This moist microclimate of the rainforest helps prevent wildfires and conserves the diversity of unique plant species.

The unique bird list includes: the Rose Robin, the Lewin’s and Crescent Honeyeater, Australian King Parrot, Gang-gang Cockatoo, Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike and White-throated Treecreeper and many others.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
