    The event vibe

The CERES Olive to Oil Festival is a free community festival will offer preserving demonstrations, pruning workshops, live music, food stalls and activities for children. Come along, see people picking up their oil and get excited about community action.

Melbourne's backyard and street trees are about to become a city-wide harvest, as CERES' much-loved Olive to Oil program returns this May and June. The community-powered initiative invites residents to collect olives from their own trees - or rescue fruit going to waste in local streets and parks - and have them pressed into fresh extra virgin olive oil. For those without access to olive trees, come along to the festival and experience the action.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
