    Local Vibes

The gateway to Victoria’s wilderness coast in Far East Gippsland, Marlo is a tranquil seaside town at the mouth of the Snowy River. The region boasts some of the most beautiful and unspoilt waterways and beaches in Victoria, including the Snowy Inlet, where the Snowy River meets the sea. The sheltered waters of the estuary at Marlo allow fishing all year around and the waters produce some of the best perch and bream fishing in Australia. Marlo is a haven for bushwalking, bird-watching, remote beaches and water-based activities.

Cape Conran is the surfers haven, with a beach that any surfer would love. Onky a 15min drive from Marlo where you will find camping and cabin facilities at the Cape Conran Coastal Park. Camp in amongst a bush setting within walking distance to the beach. Day trip or stay the night, this hidden gem is a beautiful place to stop and enjoy. For the ultimate surfing pleasure, Salmon Rocks is a 50m long break where the experienced surfer will find a great wave.

Marlo is at the mouth of the Snowy River where you can enjoy this natural beauty via the Estuary Walk.

We acknowledge the First Peoples throughout Victoria and their ongoing connection to the land and waters.

For over 60,000 years they have cared for Country and preserved our beautiful landscapes. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present.

We are grateful for their custodianship, their knowledge and their resilience.

We would also like to acknowledge our First Peoples as Australia’s original storytellers. Their rich storytelling inspires us to share how special Melbourne and Victoria is with the world.
