Ripe Sassafras

Ripe Sassafras is a well-known and loved cafe restaurant in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, owned and run by hills locals. Located in the quaint Sassafras Village, about a 45-minute drive east of Melbourne. The venue is centred around one of the original homes dating back to the early 1900's and has the edition of a fully covered alfresco dining space at the rear that looks out to the trees. The venue oozes cosy ambience and also caters for our fury friends on the front deck.

Much loved by the locals for the quality dark roast Melba specialty espresso, Lindt hot chocolate, and chef prepared meals made from scratch using local, fresh and ethically sourced produce. There's an all day all-day breakfast and lunch menu that includes plenty of plant based and gluten-free meals and cakes. For afternoon tea, enjoy delicious house-made pastries, cakes, biscuits and scones.
